The objective is to support local groups to efficiently deal with funding, governance and employment issues and achieving their key objectives. Community Services Programme
The Community Services Programme (CSP) is managed by Pobal on behalf of the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. The CSP is a continuation of the Social Economy Programme previously managed by FAS. The Programme objectives have been changed as the programme now focuses on funding local services and employment opportunities for particularly disadvantaged groups in society.
We are involved in the multi-stakeholder Group initiated by the CDP Edenmore with a view to addressing safety issues in Edenmore with a focus on the Shopping centre and its immediate environs. The operational requirements for small organisations in receipt of statutory funding are quite demanding. Access to HR and Financial Controlling expertise is often outside the scope of the resources of smaller organisations. Under this programme, Northside Partnership made support readily available to a number of organisations to professionalise their approach to handling aspects of governance. In 2007 Northside Partnership ran a range of Human Resources/Corporate Governance, IT and Finance support services for a cluster of small companies in its catchment area, under the Framework for Cohesion, Coordination and Integration.
The following areas were addressed: grants administration, bookkeeping, payroll and invoicing, health and safety issues, employment policy, and optimisation of IT skills/usage (saving costs through creation of economies of scale). We are hoping to provide follow-up initiatives in 2008. |
