Mapping the Community NorDubCo Community Development Network The network is a result of a collaborative effort between the North Dublin Development Coalition (NorDubCo) and Partnerships on Dublin's Northside in 2007. The objectives of the regional network is to facilitate information sharing, learning and support among community development teams. Some aspects addressed by the network are Asset-Based Community Development, Rights-Based Approach to Community Development and the idea of establishing Citizen Juries. Statistical Information & Training Almost every organisation needs statistics on their catchment area at some stage during the year. Often statistical information is required to inform funding applications, business plans, policy development and/or advocacy. The statistics from the Census 2006 are the most recent statistics available and they can be accessed online. However, the census website is not very user-friendly and it is sometimes hard to find the information required. Therefore we have developed a user guide which will hopefully allow you to find all the relevant statistics on www.census.ie. We also offer a practical training session on how to use the census website. If you would like to receive more information please contact us on 01/848 56 30. Each file includes certain categories and variables that are considered useful in obtaining desired spatial information that can help us to:
The pdf-files for each of the 7 districts contain information on the area’s neighbourhoods, the social infrastructure (Part 1) and statistical data such as educational attainment, social class, housing, transport (Part 2).
We also provide a summary document comparing the entire catchment area here: Please note that, currently, only the statistical data (Part 2) is available on this website.
