The Employment & Enterprise programme is designed to put in place effective interventions that benefit the unemployed, the employer and the community.
To fulfill the Partnership's objective to ‘Meet the Challenge of Social Inclusion', the Employment & Enterprise programme has met this Challenge through its primary objective, which is to contribute toward the building of a vibrant local economy through:
-
the provision of services to support the unemployed into self-employment and through this the development of a local entrepreneurial culture
-
the development of strategic links with employers through the Northside Partnership Business Network
-
the provision of tailor made employment interventions for the Partnership target groups
-
the provision of support to local community groups and organisations to build capacity and promote long term sustainability
-
the development of an infrastructure that would demonstrate the emerging economic vibrancy of the community in which the Partnership operates
-
the development of a ‘partnership' approach with key government departments and agencies to maximise the effectiveness of services and exchequer funding into the community
In relation to the enterprise strategy, the technical support provided to local community organisations has resulted in the development of a network of enterprise centres, which has added to the overall growth of the community and provided a visual demonstration of what the community has achieved.
